Sun Tzu was a Chinese Spring and Autumn era philosopher, military strategist and leader.  Sun Tzu is best known in the modern world for his contributions to military strategy most notably his book The Art of War.  Sun Tzu lived from 544-496 BC and was named Sun Wu at birth.  He was later given the more honorable title of Sun Tzu which translates to "Mater Sun".  The Art of War although written mainly in the context of military strategy has served as a strategic guide to victory around the world in endeavors such as business, politics, sports and of course warfare.
